Sterilization of Non-breeders

Sadly, thousands of cats are put to death every year needlessly because of animal overpopulation. Such overpopulation is caused by neglecting to have pets sterilized. Please consider, carefully, the following information with regard to sterilization.

Benefits of sterilization

Your pet may be spayed/neutered at 6 months of age with no major problem. Sterilization implies in most cases only minor surgery under anesthesia, and most of the time your pet will be back to normal activity within a couple of days.

In females, sterilization helps prevent:

  • mammary tumors and cancer
  • infection of the uterus
  • eliminates the symptoms of heat, specially vocalization

In males, sterilization helps prevent:

  • roaming
  • territorial marking
